Create a Product

A product in Bitship is the link between something you sell in Square and what gets delivered when it’s purchased. Creating one takes a single form — there’s no separate “upload” and “link files” step.

Create a product

1. Go to Products and click Add new.
2. Under Square item, select the Square catalog item (and variation) this product corresponds to.
3. Choose your content source:
   • Upload files to Bitship — attach one or more files directly. Bitship stores and serves them.
   • External Link — paste a URL to the file instead (for example, a Google Drive share link). Use this if you’d rather host the file yourself.
4. If uploading, use the file picker to select one or more files. If linking, paste the full URL (e.g. https://drive.google.com/file/d/your_file_id).
5. Click Save.

No matching Square item?

If the item you want isn’t in the list, you need to create it in Square first. The form links directly to your Square item library — create the item there, then come back and refresh the page.

Multiple files on one product

You can attach several files to a single product when uploading — the customer’s download page will list each one. If you’d rather ship one clean download, zip your files together and upload the archive instead.

Selling variations separately

If a Square item has multiple variations (for example Standard and Pro), each variation needs its own product in Bitship, mapped individually. This lets you attach different files to each variation — for example, bonus templates only on the Pro variation.

Edit or remove files from a product

Open the product from your Products list to edit it. You can remove an individual attached file, add new ones, or switch between an upload and an external link, then save.

Delete a product

From the Products list, click Delete on a product and confirm. This removes the mapping — the underlying Square item isn’t affected, but future orders for it will no longer trigger a delivery until you map it again.
